As of June 1, 2017, this sector of the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM) corresponds to the territory previously served by the CIT Sud-Ouest. Regular transport and paratransit services, transit passes, fares, schedules and other policies will remain the same until further notice.

To serve you better, a taxibus service is available (booked in advance) to supplement the bus service in areas where buses do not run outside peak hours. A sign in the taxi indicates that it is a taxibus.

The municipalities of Beauharnois, Châteauguay and Ville de Léry have taxibus service available. Consult the links to see their respective Beauharnois, Châteauguay et Ville de Léry sont déservis par taxi collectif:

You must be at the stop at least 5 minutes before the time indicated by the taxibus dispatcher, and allow for a 15-minute wait after the scheduled arrival time (to account for the fact that you may be travelling with other users and may not be the first person picked up). Passengers will be picked up and dropped off only at designated bus stops. Smoking in vehicles is prohibited. Drivers are not permitted to accept gratuities.

If you wish to travel using a monthly OPUS card, you must first register the card with the RTM Sud-Ouest office by calling 450 -698-3030.

Reservations, cancellations or changes

Reservations or changes to reservations must be made at least one hour prior to the departure time indicated on the regular schedule. All reservations must be made by the service user; the bus driver cannot, under any circumstances, make a taxibus reservation. When booking the reservation, you will be asked for:

  • your name
  • your telephone number
  • the number of the bus stop
  • the method of payment you will be using
  • the time at which you would like to travel

To cancel a reservation, you must call the taxibus service at least 30 minutes before the bus departure time. You must provide your name and the date and time of the reservation you wish to cancel. You will be required to pay a penalty in the event you do not show up at the bus stop without having cancelled your reservation. After 3 infractions, the RTM Sud-Ouest reserves the right to withdraw the privilege of using the taxibus service. People travelling alone at night may request to get off between stops; the taxibus driver will determine the safest place to stop the vehicle, as close as possible to the desired drop-off point.

Payment methods

  • OPUS monthly card – previously registered with RTM Sud-Ouest
  • Cash –  In the taxibus, the driver will give change, where applicable
  • The 10-trip tickets are not valid for the taxibus
  • Passengers paying cash will receive a transfer from the bus or taxibus driver

Rules for commuters

  • Parents with babies: Adults with a young child must sit in the back seat of the vehicle and secure the child with the vehicle’s seatbelt, or place the child in the car seat provided and installed by the adult. Passengers who will be travelling with a young child must mention this when they make their reservation.
  • Luggage and parcels: Hand luggage placed on the passenger’s lap is allowed, provided it does not take up space required for other passengers. Use of the trunk is not permitted.
  • Small pets: Small animals like dogs, cats or birds are permitted to ride in the vehicle, provided they are in a pet carrier or a cage

Only RTM Sud-Ouest is authorized to handle passenger complaints about the taxibus service. Complaints may be made in writing to our offices or by telephone at 450 698-3030 (during business hours).
