Winter means sledding!

This season, hit the toboggan runs on the South Shore. Here are five of the region’s best-groomed sledding hills accessible by public transit.

🛷 Sainte-Julie

When the conditions are right, the toboggan hill in Sainte-Julie is a must in the region for sledding enthusiasts. There are individual sledding tracks and on busy days a monitor is on site to ensure everything runs smoothly.

And good news for snowboarders: you’re welcome to use the hill, too.

Where: Located at the intersection of Armand-Frappier Blvd. and Chemin du Fer-à-Cheval

🛷🛷 Parc du Petit-Rapide, Beloeil

This simple hill is a favourite among locals. The park is lit up at night and snow canons keep the hill ready to ride.

Where: Accessible via Choquette or Champlain Streets

🛷🛷🛷 Parc régional des grèves, Sorel-Tracy

Located on an enchanting site that’s protected from the wind, Parc Régional des Grèves boasts a hill with four separate runs that are mechanically groomed. Snow tubes are available to rent ($) and there’s a chalet for visitors to warm up and enjoy a bite to eat.

🛷🛷🛷🛷 Parc de Cherbourg, Candiac

Lit up with solar energy, Grizzly hill is eight metres high and features five separated runs. On cold days, tobogganers can warm up near the gas fireplace.

🛷🛷🛷🛷🛷 Récréoparc, Sainte-Catherine

In Sainte-Catherine, snow sports are a very popular winter activity. That’s why they’ve built an artificial toboggan hill with three runs on the site alongside the river. If you find it all a bit too chilly, you can warm up in the cozy reception centre with a coffee or cocktail—or practice your dance moves thanks to music played by a DJ.

Note that equipment is available to rent, including snow tubes.
