As of September 1, 2017 all full-time students registered in an institution recognized by the MEES, regardless of their age, will be able to travel at the reduced student fare applicable.
The OPUS card for students, which is personal and non-transferable, is proof of your eligibility for a reduced or student fare. If you don’t have it with you when you travel, you will have to pay the regular fare.
If you are a full-time student between 15 and 25 years old, you need to renew your OPUS card with photo by October 31 of every year for benefiting from the fare reduction on your travel tickets..
Tip: to skip the line-ups, you can apply for or renew your OPUS card with photo as soon as classes start!!
Just go to a metropolitan ticket office or a service centre. Bring along the appropriate required documents.
